Kate Flood

Registered Social Worker | Trauma & EMDR Therapist

Kate is a Registered Social Worker and clinical therapist offering therapy in Saint John, New Brunswick and virtually across the province. She works with adults and adolescents who are navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and the often complex patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves and others.

Kate holds graduate degrees in both Social Work and Psychology, bringing an integrative and clinically grounded perspective to her work. Her approach is informed by advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), alongside modalities such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, Kate tailors therapy to the individual, focusing on what is most effective and meaningful for each client.

Her work is particularly rooted in trauma and attachment, helping clients understand how past experiences continue to shape present patterns, and supporting them in moving toward greater regulation, clarity, and connection.

In addition to her clinical work, Kate brings extensive experience from New Brunswick’s not-for-profit sector, having worked across health, justice, and social systems. This background informs a strong commitment to accessibility, advocacy, and reducing barriers to care. She maintains an active role in the community through student supervision, program development, and partnerships that expand access to mental health support.

Kate has contributed to the field through research and presentations on trauma, attachment, personality, executive functioning, and substance use, and is actively involved in therapeutic programming and supervising emerging clinicians. She leads and facilitates therapeutic groups within the community, further extending access to care.

Her approach is thoughtful, direct, and collaborative. She aims to create a space where clients feel understood, while also being gently supported to explore patterns, build insight, and move toward meaningful change.
